This is Emma's story, she thinks shes found the perfect prospective father for her baby, who will be completely unaware of his gentic contribution, and will be conveniently gone far, far away soon, since she doesn't want a guy in her life at all. She does however need to know the person who will father her baby....
Love his Genes
Chapter One:
Twenty-eight, twenty-nine, thirty, Emma counted appreciatively as she set down her binoculars. From her apartment, she had a perfect view of the tall sinewy guy doing his morning pushups on his balcony across the street from her.
He went through his paces every single morning, exact same time, same routine, every day for the past week. This facet of him really appealed to her orderly soul. The rippling muscles on his lean physique were a definite plus point of course. Her quarry seemed to be shaping up very nicely. All in all he appeared to be ‘the one’.
Flopping down on her plush white sofa, she picked up a thick file, and quickly flipped through her exhaustive notes. She had researched ‘Mr. Dad’, as she had nicknamed him, down to the exact hour of his birth, knew his genealogy, medical history, finances… all in all she thought she knew pretty much everything there was to know about him.
Emma was nothing if not meticulous, and considering the delicate but critical nature of her project, she had gone about digging as deep as could into the life of Jason D. Johnson a.k.a Mr. Dad.
Being the human resource manager at the company he worked at had definitely helped her project along. She had a hard time ignoring the alarm bells clanging loudly in her brain during her clandestine research, apart from that, putting together his profile had been a piece of cake.
Jason was a geophysical engineer who worked in the Dubai branch of her firm, and very rarely came to New York. This spring he was in town to conduct a training seminar, and he would be gone within three weeks. This time he was due to be away for a minimum of three years, as he was assigned to some high tech, complicated project deep in the jungles of Africa.
